The Recreation Ministry uses sports and recreation as an avenue to build relationships through its activites to earn the right to share Jesus.

Champion for Recreation: volunteer attends Recreation Ministry activities with the purpose of befriending spectators and participants to share prayer and spiritual needs.
Class Instructor leads fitness classes or First Place class. Time: 1.5 hours class time plus class preparation time.
Coach: sport specific: Upward Basketball or Cheerleading (children K-6th), Hits 4 Him (Coed Middle School through Sr High), Hoops 4 Him (Boys: Middle School and Sr High; Girls: Middle School through Sr High), Softball (Adult Men and Women teams). Time: 3 hours/week
Event Support: volunteer commits to prayer support for Upward Basketball or a specific Recreation Ministry event. Or volunteer is willing to run errands for Recreation Ministry as needed. Time: Varies
MISCUUES: Clowns volunteer to promote love, joy, laughter and bridges of acceptance at special events in the community. Time: 2 hours biweekly for meetings, 3 hrs for special events
Referee/Umpire: volunteers officiate for specific sport. Upward Basketball, Adult Coed Volleyball, Hits 4 Him-coed softball. Time: 3 hours/week
ROVER: Volunteers participate in community outreach with ROVER, a big box of fun on wheels. Time: Varies
Special Event & Sports Coordinator: partners with the Rec Ministry Team and selects a non-church event that a group of Calvary family and friends may participate in and radiate Christ. Time: varies by event
Sports Missions: volunteers participate on sports teams that play in the community and at low or medium security prisons. Prison sports are basketball, volleyball, softball, and soccer. Time: 1 Saturday/month
